Hydraulic elevators are devices that are responsible for moving loads and people between the floors of different buildings. These devices are divided into various models that have wide applications. The basis of the work of these devices is based on power generation through hydraulic fluid pressure. When the engine and pumps start working, the fluid or hydraulic oil is pushed by special hoses from inside the tank into the cylinder. There, this fluid is very compressed and produces a lot of force. The pistons inside this cylinder move up due to oil pressure. Due to the movement of the pistons, the jacks are also pushed up. These jacks are connected to the pistons on one side and to the cabin on the other side. The engine and other power generation components are installed and operated in the engine room.

Types of hydraulic lifts

Hydraulic lifts are divided into several categories based on their structure and appearance. Among them, the three categories of side jack lift, jack below and scissor lift are the most widely used models.

Jack on the side

These hydraulic lifts work with the help of jacks installed next to them. If the cabin capacity is low, these lifts work with a jack on the side. But if the cabin is large and has a high capacity, there is a need for two jacks on the side. The devices that work with the jack on the side are divided into two types, direct and indirect. In the direct method, the jack is connected and installed directly to the lifting carriage. But in indirect systems, the connection between the jack and the cabin is indirect and between them there is a tow bar and wire.

Jack below

The jack systems below are the most widely used hydraulic lifts for moving loads with high capacities. In these systems, the jack is connected to the cabin from below. The jacks in this type of system are directly connected to the cabin, and the jack shell is placed in a well under the device.

Scissors lifts

These systems have arms whose movement is scissor-shaped when moving the platform or cabin. Hydraulic jacks in these systems have relatively few movements and with their movement, they cause the movement of the scissor arms. In this way, the force of the jacks, by means of the movements and arrangement of the arms, is directed in a suitable way so that the platform or the lifting cabin goes up or down.

How hydraulic lift operates

The working method of the hydraulic lift is that after it is turned on by pressing the up button, the lift moves up and when the solenoid valve is turned on, it moves down. When the lift motor is on and the hydraulic lift moves up, the hydraulic pump motor starts rotating and the oil inside the tank is pumped to the hydraulic jack. The hydraulic jack of the lift moves and goes up. The flexibility of the oil transfer hoses is very effective in the fluidity of the hydraulic lift. Because the longer and more flexible these hoses are, it causes less friction and moves more smoothly.
